Sheer style

Northern Californian Melyssa Diehl, 19, has grown up being California-hip, but taking a trip to Southern California made her pause when she had to put together outfits based on the beach lifestyle and hot Southern California sun.

During this visit to the South Bay she brought her tried-and-true California staple- her grody yet perfect Rainbow sandals. (DAY TRIP IDEA- Rainbow sandals are made in San Clemente and they have an EXCELLENT factory store!)

“They’re just so comfortable,” she said. “And they’re shaped to my feet.”

She also packed a couple of sweater-like coveralls like the Brandy Melville one she picked to wear to the beach. Her heart glasses, that a couple of people have thought were shaped like tomatoes but are obviously hearts (who buys vegetable-shaped sunglasses?), were purchased at Nordstrom.

“I got the shape because I love hearts,” Diehl said. Her friend added that if there were star ones, she would have bought those too.

“It’s cool to have unique shapes.” She said.

She topped her look off with her Steve Madden carry-all that she uses everyday and turned into a beach bag while on her trip. The bag held all her beach goodies, including her bulky beach towel.
