Red white and blue really isn’t my my favorite color combination, but when I found out the South Bay has an awesome local eco-friendly eyewear company-Dizm Eco Eyewear, I jumped at the chance to pair some patriotic colors together for a 4th of July post and sunglasses GIVEAWAY!
The amazing eyewear company is based right here, out of sunny Hermosa Beach, California, and sells their product globally. The best part is that their glasses are all-handmade from 100% renewable, recyclable, biodegradable and compostable plant-based material as well as offer 100% UV protection.
“What happened to your last pair of sunglasses?” Dizm Eco Eyewear asks. “Most likely, they were lost or thrown out. In 2011 Americans generated more than 32 million tons of plastic trash. Less than 8% was recycled. Dizm Eco Eyewear aims to do our part and help ease reliance on plastic use in many of our everyday products.”
Who doesn’t love a company that thinks globally and makes both stylish and sustainable products?
Their glasses come in men’s, women’s and unisex styles and are almost all polarized and just $99 – $109. My favorite style is the Eco Johnny Johns ($95 – $109). They’re both colorful, cute and stylish.
I’m totally into this company- their sunnies are all great styles and go with pretty much any face shape.
For the 4th of July holiday we have an awesome pair of red and white, (or red white smoke), Eco Mary Jane’s ($109.95) as well as a pair of cobalt Dempsy sunnies ($109.95) and a nose sunburn-warding Dizm “Have a Great Day” hat up for grabs.
I love the fact that they’re locally made and I’m totally going to start styling a pair of their awesome eco-friendly shades.
If you really love their glasses, check out their Indiegogo.com campaign. For just $30 you can get a pair of sunnies as well as their undying gratitude, (among other cool things like stickers and hats) and your contribution will help the company to continue to produce their eco-friendly eyewear. (For a donation of $1,500 you even get a collectable dizm surfboard custom shaped to your dimensions plus two pairs of sunnies and a dizm hat, t-shirt and stickers, rad!)
“The bad thing is there’s too much trash around and not enough of us making a difference,” the video says. “Don’t you think its time to make a difference? We at dizm eco eyewear felt ewe needed to do more to make a difference- so we created dizm days; this is where we take five minutes out each day to clean up our surroundings.”
“With your help we’ll be able to expand our product line, pay for tooling and offer our eco friendly eyewear at a more affordable price. If you’re out and you see some trash round, pick it up have a great day.”
