I am an online shopping addict. There, I said it. I spend hours surfing the web looking at pointless things, filling shopping bag upon shopping bag. I also spend too much time looking at my bank account wondering where all my money went – well, I know… it’s all in my closet.
I recently discovered a site that makes me feel much better about my shopping habit, the Fashion Project. It’s a site full of great brands at great prices – and the proceeds go to charity. No, really… It’s legit! You can also donate your old clothes and get Nordstrom gift cards in return. I’ve both bought stuff from their site and donated, and so far they have been excellent. (They even have free 30-day returns, which is always great for an online shop!)
My favorite buys have been my Vince Camuto booties ($39) – that benefited the Jane Goodall Institute and a great pair of leather Frye loafers ($44) that benefited the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Their clothes change daily, because donations are sent in daily – and they have top brand like Chloe, Tory Burch and DVF (and many, many more!). I’m still on the hunt for the perfect wrap dress. I even recently started hoarding items from the site for Christmas presents that I know my family will LOVE. When you sign up they even keep a running count of how much money you’ve raised for charity so far by buying and donating. So if you’re looking for a better way to save money and keep your closet fresh, check out the Fashion Project!
